OU Museum of Art offers free admission this summer through Blue Star Museums program

The (OUMA) will once again join museums nationwide in the annual Blue Star Museums program, which offers free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families throughout the summer.

Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families in collaboration with the Department of Defense and participating museums across America.

The 2024 program will begin on Armed Forces Day (Saturday, May 18) and end on Labor Day (Monday, September 2).

Current OUMA exhibitions “Contrapunto: Works by a Contemporary Latin American Artist Collective” will be on view through May 19; “” and “” through August 11; and “” through August 18.

This summer’s ““—an exhibition highlighting artists with disabilities—will open on July 12 and run through December 1, 2024.

The Ӱ Museum of Art is dedicated to providing a robust museum experience to Focusing particularly on accessibility, the museum frequently works with organizations like Blue Star Families to welcome anyone interested in the arts through its doors.

The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173‐1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps—and up to five family members.
