Biography: | Rhonda Amerson, Ed.D. is an associate professor of education and the Chair of the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work. Dr. Amerson earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education (1994) from Armstrong State University. She completed her graduate work at Georgia Southern University, earning a Master of Education in Middle Grades Education (1997), Education Specialist in Middle Grades Education (2004), and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum Studies (2012). Dr. Amerson joined the Teacher Education Faculty at MGA in 2014 after teaching at the elementary and middle grades levels, in both public and private school settings. A highlight of her 20 plus year career in K-12 was being named as a Georgia Master Teacher in 2011. When Dr. Amerson is not teaching or doing her administrative duties as the department chair, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and her grandson. Her hobbies include shopping, fishing, and traveling.
