- Make a purposeful choice about their program of study and how to plan for their careers.
- Begin with a productive academic mindset.
- Follow a sequenced pathway to graduation that begins in their first year with core English and math, nine credits in the student's focus area of study, and the completion of 30 credit hours.
- Develop a sense of belonging to the institution and program of study.
By starting their first year of college with a mindful approach, students are building momentum that will push them toward their goals. The Light Your Path at MGA initiative provides students with benchmarks that will lead them toward a successful first year at MGA.
In addition to working with their academic advisor, student success coach, and career resource liaison, students are encouraged to join a student organization, volunteer in the community, participate in student leadership programs, and participate in . First-year students can also request a peer mentor and complete quests in the Knights Academy that will help them adjust to college.
